These two kitchens, one L-shaped and one U-shaped, are from solid ash wood - doors, drawer-fronts, and framing too. Parts of the worktop not made up from solid wood are in Welsh slate. Doors are morticed and tenoned, and hung on brass butt hinges, for durability. Finger-pulls are cut into the wood, so nothing protrudes. Simple, workmanlike, wholesome. If commissioning a kitchen, you'll probably have thought about the layout, and this will be finalised by discussion. Normally I install up to about 25 miles from Machynlleth, and the cost of the woodwork, made to order and fitted, can be about £1,000 per metre run (length of wall occupied). Then there are the appliances to source, and plumber, electrician and other trades may be involved aswell. |
